A Message From Miss Rawson

28th March 2018

2500 Stourfield Junior 069Unfortunately, for the first time that I can remember, we have taken the decision to postpone the Fun Run tomorrow morning. Although we know that the weather forecast can change, as I write, more rain is forecast overnight and there is a 60-70% chance of rain tomorrow morning from early on and as we would be taking part in the event. Given that we run round the field and through the Rookery, we are concerned about the slippery nature of the ground underfoot and feel that for health and safety reasons this is the wisest decision. We are sad about this as we enjoy ending the Spring Term with this whole school event but will look to do it early next term. We will let you know as soon as we have a date and are in need of marshals. Thank you to all of those who had offered today.

Our lovely ladies in the office are run off their feet at the moment with medical issues for things which children have done at home. As amazing as they are, their qualification is a first aid one only; they are not professional nurses or doctors! Please can I ask that if your child is injured at home, you treat it at home or take them to see your GP. Please do not send your child into school for treatment or a second opinion.

I need to let your know that the price of hot school lunches is going up to £2.40 per day from April 1st. We are sorry that we have to pass this on to you but there has not been an increase since 2014.

If there is anyone out there who would like to spend a week in the wilds with our Y6 pupils on their residential to Bushcraft, we are looking for two willing and able volunteers. Please contact Mrs Bootle at school.

The Stourfield Star was sent out at the end of last week. Please can you make sure that you have signed your child up for any clubs in which you would like them to take part in the summer term – and return the sheet to us, even if you have paid via Parent Pay, for safeguarding reasons.

School ends tomorrow, Thursday, March 29th at 12:15. The summer term starts on Monday, April 16th. Have a wonderful and safe Easter break.
