An Update From Miss Rawson

22nd September 2017

2500 Stourfield Junior 069This morning, we had a fire practice and I was so proud of our pupils. They came out sensibly, quietly and lined up beautifully. As a result, the whole exercise was conducted promptly and we were back inside getting on with our learning in record time.

Nigel, from St. Christopher’s Church, will be coming in to school on Tuesday to do Harvest with the children in our Choral assembly slot. If you would like to send in any food items for this event, we will ensure that they are collected for the Southbourne Foodbank which is based at Immanuel Church. Please make sure that you only send in store cupboard items – tins, packets, boxes, long-life cartons etc. and not fresh produce as it may be a while before things are collected.

It also European day of Languages on Tuesday, September 26th and National Poetry Day on Thursday, September 28th. Both will be marked with activities in school.

We seem to be having a run of weather where the days start sunny bright and then, at some point, from lunchtime onwards, the heavens open. Please can you make sure that your child has a waterproof coat in school for such an occasion? We do feel that it important that they get fresh air, if at all possible, and unless it there is a downpour, will endeavour to get them outside. Not having a coat in school will not be an excuse for not going out!

Please could you also ensure that your child has trainers in school every day for their Daily Mile.
